Research has found that around 80% of CEOs believe empathy is a key to success within their organisations. However, strategies for building empathy in the workplace remain elusive. Is empathy something innate, or can it be learned? There are also questions around whether empathy is actionable and sustainable in the workplace today, especially given high rates of burnout among leaders. How can we make the practice of empathy both more accessible and more effective in the workplace?

New findings from the 2024 Global Culture Report indicate that traditional models that focus on empathy as a “feeling” are less effective than a practical approach to empathy. According to our research, a practical approach treats empathy as a practice of care that is grounded in understanding, guided by appropriate boundaries, and backed by supportive action.

In this webinar, you will learn:

  • The six attitudes and behaviours behind practical empathy that drive trust, connection, and belonging among employees
  • How taking a practical approach to empathy improves employee and organisational outcomes, including belonging, retention, and the ability to weather changes in the workplace
  • How recognition amplifies the impact of practical empathy at work
