O.C. Tanner Leader Mindi Cox Named by Utah Business Magazine as a 30 Women to Watch Honoree
Cox is recognized for her crucial work in guiding O.C. Tanner through the COVID-19 pandemic and dedication to employee wellbeing and company culture
Salt Lake City - May 12, 2022 - Mindi Cox, O.C. Tanner chief marketing and people officer, has been recognized as an honoree in the 2022 30 Women to Watch program by Utah Business Magazine. This is Cox’s third time being honored by the publication, previously being named as an HR Executive of the Year and included in the 40 under 40 list.
“Being recognized among so many influential leaders is such an honor,” said Cox. “Any success I’ve enjoyed has more to do with the joyful, although sometimes difficult, work I’ve been privileged to do alongside people I deeply enjoy working with, for a company we all believe in. These past few years have required extraordinary reimagining of almost everything and our people have been all in. I’m so proud of all we continue to accomplish, together.”
Cox oversees people operations at O.C. Tanner, the global leader in employee recognition and workplace culture, and is the backbone for all company initiatives and culture setting, both within O.C Tanner and for the company’s relationships with the community. She is a champion for growth in employee and company giving, and oversees a number of initiatives that help O.C. Tanner give back and do social good.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Cox drove increased communication and organizational transparency between O.C. Tanner’s executive team and the workforce. She ensured that every one of O.C. Tanner’s 1,500+ employees were in-the-know on COVID-19 and mental health resources, pandemic-related client/customer updates and any operational changes to the business, no matter how unfavorable the changes may have been. Cox also served as a major supporter of the O.C. Tanner manufacturing teams’ work to produce personal protective equipment (PPE) for frontline healthcare workers across the country.
“Mindi is the cornerstone of our entire organizational structure, culturally and from a business perspective,” said Dave Petersen, O.C. Tanner president and CEO. “Every member of O.C. Tanner’s leadership team, myself included, rely on her guidance and expertise, especially when the status quo is challenged. Thanks to Mindi, our company’s culture came out of the pandemic stronger and more resilient than when it entered.”
The annual 30 Women to Watch awards program honors the most influential and successful women in Utah, all of whom will be recognized at a live event on Thursday, May 19.
